Fighting to save our NHS from profiteers.
One man's dedication to the 999 campaign led him from marching 300 miles from Jarrow to London to DRIVING his 999 Motorhome around the coast of the England, Scotland & Wales.
Where we began - the 999 People's March for the NHS. Thousands of people came together to join the Darlo Mums and "300 milers" as we marched from Jarrow to Trafalgar Square. Visit our Archive, to see where we went and what we got up to!
2015 - Hackney Empire played host to a fundraising NHS comedy extravaganza. Comedians and celebrities gathered to both celebrate and support the NHS. We were guests of honour along with other campaigners and NHS Staff who are still fighting to save our health service.
2016 - Together with over twenty local and regional campaign groups we organised two meetings with then Shadow Health Secretary Heidi Alexander and John McDonnell.
2017 - Hundreds of campaigners joined us in signing a letter of protest against the lack of transparency in the STPs. Is your name there?
Campaigners held protests in their local areas sharing the same message - STOP the STPs.
Our award winning film made by Steven Carne with lots of help from campaigners and filmmaker John Furse and his production team.
An intimate insight into the campaign world - that the public don't always see...
We have been involved with the Bill since 2014. The only piece of draft legislation that calls clearly for the renationalisation of the NHS.
Conversations with GP Dr Bob Gill, 2016 and we were already seeing th signs of the changes to GP services that were so damaging to both NHS Staff and patients.
Online invetigations that we started in 2015... although we discontinued specific investigations these led to long lasting campaigner relationships and strategies
Still a resource for those looking to organise a public event with a different way into discussing the issues.
Our first experience of the reality of Health Conventions and big corporate profit seeking healthcare. Be prepared to be shocked.
The companion Judicial Review JR4NHS was joined by Sir Stephen Hawking. He spoke out for the need for a renationalised NHS.

Many campaigners joined the Junior Doctors on the frontline strikes. A difficult fight against the establishment with a Health Secretary hell-bent on destroying the workforce and the comprehensive nature of our healthcare system
Cross Party Health Select Committee seemed to be ignoring the obvious in 2018. We felt we had to ask "Democracy, what Democracy?"
Campaigners quickly rallied together when we understood the full impact of the STPs.
Party politics is driving the country to ruin- allegiances overriding common sense and moral duty. Gloria and Alexandra are two former Tory party supporters who have turned away from party politics.
Politics has been a confusing and emotionally charged arena over the last 5 years.
And we have found ourselves (despite best efforts) embedded and embroiled in the dirty game. This is one such incident where we were accused - along with other campaigners - of bbigg a rogue lefty group planting dangerous seeds in the Labour party...
We started out fighting a local CCG then found ourselves confronting NHS England head on in the courts.
April 25th 2019 - Our response to the NHS ENGLAND call for opinion on proposed Primary legislation to fast-track their Long Term (Scam) Plan
Meeting with MPs to call for better scrutiny to stop damaging cuts
NHS Defender campaign groups from across England met to lobby MPs at a meeting in the House of Commons on Monday 10th September 2018.
Since we started in 2014 with the Jarrow to London People’s March for the NHS, we've organised days of campaign action, initiated and presented petitions, helped to make referrals of lousy cuts proposals to the Secretary of State, taken NHS England, NHS Improvement and a Clinical Commissioning Group to the High Court and Court of Appeal in a Judicial Review, and done endless fact finding research into NHS cuts and privatisation policies, schemes and proposals, which we’ve shared widely with other campaign groups across the country. We have lobbied Councillors, MPs, parliamentary candidates and various Party Conferences.
