One man's dedication to the 999 campaign led him from marching 300 miles from Jarrow to London to DRIVING his 999 Motorhome around the coast of the England, Scotland & Wales to continue raising awareness about the secret privatisation of the NHS.
Great job, Joe!
By far our biggest achievement in 2014 was the 999 People's March for the NHS. The culmination of a year's worth of planning, with fantastic cooperation between coordinators helping us in every location where we stopped.
Thousands of people came together to join the Darlo Mums and "300 milers" as we marched from Jarrow to Trafalgar Square. Visit our Archive, to see where we went and what we got up to!
Following the 999 Call for the NHS People's March we organised a day convention in London inviting campaign groups from all over the country.
Speakers included Peter Roderick- NHS Reinstatement Bill and Bob Gill, GP & Campaigner.
2015 - Hackney Empire played host to a fundraising NHS comedy extravaganza. Comedians and celebrities gathered to both celebrate and support the NHS. We were guests of honour along with other campaigners and NHS Staff who are still fighting to save our health service.
Together with over twenty local and regional campaign groups we organised two meetings with then Shadow Health Secretary Heidi Alexander and John McDonnell.
In the process we presented evidence from all over the country that bore witness to the damage being done by privatisation.
Hundreds of campaigners joined us in signing a letter of protest against the lack of transparency in the STPs.
Is your name there?
Campaigners held protests in their local areas sharing the same message - STOP the STPs.
Just a selection of events and activities that help us remember the courage and determination to all the NHS Campaigners we have met and worked with since 2014
We've been asked if we will share more of our old pages with you. Keep popping back to see if one of your memories is here.
Thanks for all your support.
Our award winning film made by Steven Carne with lots of help from campaigners and filmmaker John Furse and his production team.
The film gives an intimate insight into the campaign world - that the public don't always see...
