Campaigners in two very different parts of the country are celebrating more of those small step BUT very important victories.
Hands off Huddersfield HRI in Yorkshire were at Leeds Court on the 15th March to see if their appeal for a Judicial Review would be granted and the judge agreed their case should be heard.
In Dorset, campaigners in Poole fought hard to push for a Judicial Review into the closure of maternity services.
There are over 231K signatories to the government petition Stop Privatisation of NHS services so MPs will debate it in Westminster Hall on 23rd April, 4.30pm. Stop & Reverse NHS Privatisation Rally at 3pm at Cromwell Entrance, tickets available for the debate from 3.30pm in Westminster Hall.
You can write to Mike Hill, the MP leading the debate via the House of Commons Petitions Committee, they will forward that on to him. They would not treat it as formal written evidence or publish it as they have not set up an inquiry into this subject.
Please contact your own MP and ask them to speak in the debate – any backbench MP can speak in the debate.
The meeting can be seen on the Facebook Event link:
Tueday 24th April our day in court arrived. We were joined early in the morning by fellow campaigners who were keen to lend a hand in setting up our 9am rally outside the courts.
Almost 100 campaigners made the journey to the courts to share their determination to protect the NHS as a comprehensive health service and to highlight the dangers of Accountable Care.
