What was the consultation about?

Screen Shot 2021-01-10 at 14.40.50

The recent consultation was about new NHS legislation that would give strategic control of fragmented local health and social care systems to US profiteering companies and further restrict our access to NHS treatments.

But we know from people’s comments and questions that the consultation document and online survey questions were incomprehensible to the general public.

“Those questions made no sense to me”, said one of our neighbours.

“Reading the NHS England Integrated Care: Next Steps consultation document didn't help,”

said a Parish Councillor

The NHS England document does not make clear that the proposed legislation will fundamentally change the structure and ethos of the NHS, by cementing changes introduced through the 2014-19 Five Year Forward View plan.

This has required huge cuts and privatisation of services, aimed at transforming the NHS into a limited, restricted health service based on the model of the US Medicare system that provides limited publicly-funded healthcare for people who are too poor or sick to afford private health insurance.

Since 2016, these changes have been implemented through so-called Sustainability and Transformation Plans for 44 areas - without any legal authorisation. Now the proposed NHS legislation would fix these changes in place in a way that would be next to impossible to undo.

PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Hello. Welcome to our OPTOUT page. All the information here is taken from trusted sites and we have tried to make the process as easy as possible for you.

We recommend that you OPT OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Current deadline is August 25th but that is not confirmed by the Dept. of Health so we just say "urgently".

There are TWO STEPS to take. Luckily they do not take a long time but it's worth taking careful time to ensure you succeed. Approx. 10 - 15mins to do both steps.

PLEASE NOTE: This will NOT affect your access to NHS Treatments. And you can Opt-In again at any time. We simply recommend you opt-out because the ethics of this cynical move by the Dept. of Helath and NHS Digital should not be allowed to proceed and public opting out will help to make that clear.

STEP ONE: Type 1 Opt Out (GP Surgery)

This tells your GP Practice that you do not wish your personal patient information leaving the GP Practice. By filling out the TYPE 1 Objection a code will be placed on your patient records and will not be automatically transferred on September 1st.

It is a very simple two sided form with name, address details and a tickbox to OptOut.

(Don't worry about NHS NUmber if you don't know it).

Select the "I DO NOT WISH" option.

* Download either the PDF VERSION or WORD Version(allows you to do it online)

*Either  print, write in details and take/send to your GP Surgery

OR

*Fill in online, add electronic signnature, email to Practice Manager requesting a reply.

IMPORTANT SECOND STEP

We recently discovered that Somerset NHS Foundation Trust wants to SELL its data (patient personal information) to a company called Sensyne.

READ HERE: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-57568711

STEP TWO: Type 2 Opt Out

(NHS/Hospital Records etc)

This is a simple 2 mins process and is currently only available ONLINE.

Go to this NHS England page:

https://www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters/

To find out more about data and your choices you can also visit this page:

https://digital.nhs.uk/about-nhs-digital/our-work/keeping-patient-data-safe/how-we-look-after-your-health-and-care-information/your-information-choices/opting-out-of-sharing-your-confidential-patient-information

YOU CAN HELP US FURTHER

Share this page with friends and family and explain to them:

THIS IS NOT THE NHS GRABBING YOUR DATA

This is the Dept. of Health/NHSEngland & Digital grabbing your data and making it available - to whom? And for what purpose?

Opting OUT will not affect your ability to access your GP.

If anything making this choice to protect your data is to improve the relationship with your GP and ensure you can trust them to keep your records safe. Your records can be shared with your permission at any time with people who need to help you.
